  3. A Day in the Park (Winter)

    Club Colorado &bull Feb 4, 2012

Day after day I scoped out the Rocky Mountains from the Boulder flats. Or more precisely, the bare Rocky Mountains. It was early January and there was more snow down in the Front Range than the high peaks. Freaky strange. That's why when a fast-passing storm was predicted to clip… Full Story »

  4. Sol Vista Basin: Where Families Go Big!

    Club Colorado &bull Feb 3, 2012

I may be biased, but I think that Sol Vista is the best mountain anywhere for families learning to ski." We were riding up the Quick Draw Express Quad at Sol Vista Basin, with a ski patroller. As he spoke, we looked down at the run beneath us. To one side, we saw families: Little kids with parents, bigger kids in a pack and families of all shapes and sizes skiing together. To the other side, we saw Sol Vista's ripping terrain park. This is where the "big kids" were, throwing tricks and catching air off the mountain's large features.… Full Story »

  9. Someplace warm, where the beer flows like wine...

    Club Colorado &bull Jan 22, 2012

One-point-two seconds. That is the time it takes for me to see a fur coat after stepping out of my rusty Subaru. I'm parked semi-legally in front of the Sky Hotel in Aspen, Colorado. I'm here on a holiday weekend… Full Story »
